My Top 5 Things to do in Prague!
Prague is an absolutely amazing city that I’ve been lucky enough to call my home for over 2 years. I am constantly amazed by the history and beauty that seems to be around every single corner. It seems, however, that the world has caught on to the charms of this Bohemian city, and tourists certainly do infiltrate every year, particularly in the summer and just before Christmas (Christmas markets, anyone?). I get as frustrated by rogue selfie sticks as the next girl, so I’ve spent my time in Prague looking for the best places to experience the city and Czech culture without being mowed down by a Segway in Old Town Square.
I’m proud to say that after 2 years of dedicated research, I’ve landed on my top 5 favorite places in this magical city. I can understand a traveler’s reluctance to visit such a city that can be overrun by tourists, but Prague is not that city at all! A walk over Charles Bridge at 11 am on a Saturday in June may tell a different story, but take a trip to Riegrovy Sady or Naplavka on any given summer evening, and be prepared to be amazed at the chilled out vibe, local atmosphere, and awesome beverages permeating the area. I’ve grown to love my current “home” city, and I’m excited to share it with you!

Prague is one of the top touristy places that I would like to visit someday. Traveling there is not easy for me because of tourist visa issue but I hope someday I can make it. I would also like to stay for a long time from country to country. Your video is inspiring. 🙂
Totally loved the video and came back to comment here. It brought back many memories and can relate to you Prague is so much more than charles bridge and clock tower. Thanks for sharing.

I love Prague- so many hidden gems! And there are many months of the year, and many neighborhoods where you can go that aren’t super crowded and touristy-it’s all about trying 🙂
I’ve never been to Prague (crazy I know) but I really enjoyed having a visual of other few places you should visit and what would you find there. Thanks!
Cool video! I like you recomendations! The shots you got of all the birds and swans in Naplavka are just stunning!
You couldn’t have said it better. We love rustic cities and towns, and Prague is one of them. In fact, we don’t find appreciation in ultramodern cities of glass, steel, and concrete.
We love the red-tile roofs, white-washed walls, cobblestone streets, green parks, cafes by the river, and all.
Hmmm…we would probably have a latte while enjoying the scene of those ducks wading in the river.
What a beatiful place to be, the last place with the view of that stunning lake/river is my favourite from your top , saved the best for the last i’d say.
We really enjoyed Prague when we went with out friends a year ago. We enjoyed the TV Tower as well as the Vyšehrad. I think we will have to go back to Prague to see more of it though. When we went it was not overrun with tourists luckily.
“Czech” it out! So cute 🙂 I’m jealous that you’ve been living there. I know what you mean when you say that the longer you live in a place, its hard to dwindle down your five favorite places. Really nice travelogue, you’re such a great orator!
Awesome Video. The atmosphere in Prague is so serene. I loved Naplavka most and the Swans even more. Wonderful work Katie!
I come from Prague and I can confirm everything you’ve written. Excellent post and awesome recommendations, Katie!
